FAQs

1. What is a Celebrant?

A Celebrant is a trained professional who creates and conducts personalised ceremonies for a variety of life events. Unlike religious or civil officiants, a Celebrant-led ceremony is tailored entirely to reflect your values, beliefs, and story, making it truly unique and meaningful.

2. What types of ceremonies do you offer?

I offer a wide range of ceremonies including:

  • Weddings
  • Vow Renewals
  • Naming Ceremonies (for babies or blended families)
  • Commitment Ceremonies
  • Milestone Events (retirements, coming of age, etc.)

3. Can a Celebrant legally marry us?

In the UK, a Celebrant cannot conduct the legal registration of marriage. You will need to complete the legal formalities at a registry office. Many couples choose to do this in a simple appointment, then hold their personalised Celebrant-led ceremony on a separate day—or later the same day.

4. Where can the ceremony take place?

Anywhere you choose! Celebrant-led ceremonies offer the freedom to hold your event in a location that’s meaningful to you—be it a beach, woodland, garden, hotel, family home, or even somewhere unconventional. The sky’s the limit!

5. Is a Celebrant ceremony religious?

That’s entirely up to you. I can include spiritual or religious elements if you wish, or we can keep it completely non-religious. Every ceremony is created around your beliefs and preferences.

6. How involved can we be in creating the ceremony?

As involved as you’d like! I work closely with you to write and structure the ceremony, including readings, music, symbolic rituals, and personal vows. You’ll have full approval of the script before the day.

7. How far in advance should we book?

It’s always best to book as early as possible, especially for weekend dates or peak seasons. That said, if your ceremony is soon, do get in touch—I’ll do my best to accommodate you.

8. What are your fees?

Fees vary depending on the type and complexity of the ceremony. I’m happy to provide a detailed quote after a free, no-obligation consultation.

9. Do you offer a free consultation?

Absolutely. I offer a complimentary initial chat—either in person or via phone/Zoom—so we can get to know each other and explore what you’re looking for.

10. How do we get started?

Simply reach out via my contact form, email, or phone. I’d love to hear about your plans and discuss how I can help bring your ceremony to life.
